Hello there, I live in Porto Alegre, Brazil, 25yr.
First contact with GNU/Linux was in a university class, was a (open?)SuSE distro.
Since we had a project to build, I asked the teacher for a distro to use at home, he suggested Slackware (10.2 at the time). My project was to make a robot arm with 2 degrees of freedom, using 2 computers: a host (user entries the destination point) and a target (robot control), communicating with serial port. No GUI at the time
It was cool, I had to write Kernel modules, inverse and direct kinematics models and all the hardware (stepper motors).
Anyway, since then I've been using regularly. Just didn't completely abandoned Windows because I need some software to use for other projects...
My goal is to completely switch to GNU/Linux, which includes making a Win-like environment then convincing for my wife to use it.
