Saying hi to new members is SPAM? You should check your definition.
Spamming is sending unsolicited bulk messages.
When you post a hello thread, you are soliciting responses.
No one has said hi to my first post/thread.

OK, maybe spam is not the right term... maybe just trying to run up your post counter, but please be aware that it does affect others.

For example, watching new posts on LQ Spy (a useful tool for answering questions and also for welcoming new members) and seeing it fill up top to bottom in a matter of a few minutes with duplicate "welcomes" form the same member - AND FROM SEPARATE LOGIN but obviously the same person is at minimum annoying, at worst prevents people with actual questions from receiving an answer!

I count 64 posts in less than 24 hours, 50+ in the past 20 minutes, all identical, from you OR your alter ego. Perhaps not "spam", but definitely not well considered or thoughtful posts...

I see that you are also a new member - welcome to LQ - but please learn the house rules and observe a little common etiquette in your posts. LQ is a great place, let's keep it that way!

Thanks!

Welcome to LQ. I'll have a look at your first post to see if I can answer your question...

UPDATE:: I did not see a question, so I take it as an introduction... welcome to LQ!

Please note that when people fail to notice your introduction, it is not intended as a slight, it just means that those logged in at that time are otherwise occupied. But banging on the furniture for attention is generally considered rude.

I'll look into this.

@Highlander: in the meanwhile please cease making any more "welcome" posts or any posts that do not adhere to the LQ Rules, thanks in advance.
