Salutations
I think this is a great idea btw. I have toyed around with Linux for about 2 years. I first experimented, albeit ever so briefly, with Mandrake and SuSE, don't remember the version numbers. Then I deceided to try it again, so went with Redhat 8.0, reformatted, and tried to go with a trial of Gentoo. Talk about kicking my a**, the "learning curve" caused me to fear heights! I am now with Slackware 9 and think I have found my new home.
I still have XP Pro, mainly for the "security" of it all, no pun intented. I think I still need "something" every once in awhile that I can get warm and fuzzy about without too much thought involved. At this point, I have ALOT of unchartered territory to be able to do ALL of what I am used to with Linux. I guess I need something to tinker with ............ and Linux seems to fill that niche. Hope to see more of all of you on the forums. Justaguy ;) |
