Return to Linux
I recently returned to Linux after four years away. Back then, Slackware was my install of choice since that is what I used at work at the time.
I recently had a P3-650 laptop crash Windows really bad and I don't have the original discs, so I decided to install Linux. I picked up a set of Fedora Core 4 discs and installed it. Everything installed perfectly including my PCMCIA wireless card and my Laserjet 1012. I then took an old P3-750 that I had in the closet and made into a Samba server and that went very smoothly. Everything has went so well, I have decided to move my primary desktop at home to Linux. My only hang-up is that my scanner is not supported in Linux. I think I am going to purchase a different scanner and then I will be home free. I can't believe how far Linux has come since I did my first install in 1997! |
Welcome back, distro's only get better with time + the support for new stuff.

I've got the same impression... Welcome back!
