I've been retired for over a decade now, but like to keep my brain active by doing website development (server-side and client-side) programming as a hobby (with the occasional paid assignment). This is not what I did in my working days, so it's been interesting and a learning experience! Being an old-timer who was working before the first "personal computers" hit the scene, I've been through the Microsoft, Apple, etc., growth and the consequent revolution in how computers are perceived and used. It's been interesting!

One the biggest problems I find with using the Internet to help me solved programming and computer issues is that so many posts and threads are cluttered with "guesses" as opposed to comments based on real knowledge. It is a real pain to spend hours sifting through "try this, try that...". I like the freedom people have to express their opinions and I realize most people are trying to be helpful, but the clutter is unbelievable.

That problem is associated with "search". Searches often (most of the time) show results that DO NOT have a "required" word or phrase in them. That makes filtering difficult and the time to find relevant information many times longer than one would like. NOTE: I do not want to start a thread on what search engines do (including how they bias the results for advertising revenue).

In searching for answers, whether solutions or just confirmation of real problems (versus my silly programming error!), I've visited LinuxQuestions a number of times. Keep up the good work!
