Newbie intro

i just bought the Acer Aspire One for my first Linux experience. i'm an immigration paralegal by trade and my first IT experience was taking Fortran IV programming in high school, about 36 years ago!

looking forward to learning a lot. i'm sure i'll have lots of questions.
