My name is Randy McElligott. I have been a dedicated Mac user since 1988. I love the GUI of it all. I understand better if there is a GUI.

Ubuntu has always appealed to me not only because it is mostly free but also the customisation seems to be endless.

It is my hope and desire to make some Ubuntu friends on these forums so that I can better understand how to use this fascinating operating system.

I hope that when I post questions, people will understand that I am not coming from a programming or command line background, but rather s I mentioned earlier, a GUI background.

So, with all that said, I would prefer GUI solutions if possible when answering my questions. I see Ubuntu as an OS with a very bright future.
