New to LQ and Linux World

Hello Linux peeps!

I grew up in Microsoft World and now that I'm grown and know about NSA and other gov peeps I am choosing to see what Linux World is all about.I'm fascinated by it!

I own a development holding company that is starting numerous other companies as I develop affordable adult living communities with mixed use commercial. I want to build my networks with Linux... servers, computers, etc. I want my email internal and my cloud storage internal and so on. I have NO PROGRAMMING KNOWLEDGE so Linux will be a challenge but I love to learn. In about a month or so I will be looking for an experienced Linux person who will help me with all things Linux. So if you know where I should go to hire Linux old-timers I would appreciate the info.
Anyway, I'm here to learn all I can. I just set up Ubuntu 14 on Virtual Box on my Win 7 desktop so I can learn my way around in it and hunt for business software to check out, etc. I've never joined a forum before so I hope I can get around in here and not break rules and such.
I'm a constitutional freedom fighter so breaking free from the MS chains seems like a smart thing to do.

Welcome aboard.

Many people in the Linux world help the less well off by setting them up with an older machine running Linux.

It is unlikely that you will need programming knowledge, but you will need to learn, to do what you want.

When asking questions, keep each post particular to a single subject, that helps you to get answers & others to find info at a later date by searching the forum.
