New (sorta) Member Intro

Hi, my name is Stan but folks usually call me Doc. Retired Navy HM. I like and use the Aurox 12.0 version of Linux. It has a few features that I really like. Used Mandrake for a long time and started out with a version of Red Hat. I have my computer set up where I can swap drives easily so I can boot either Linux or Windows (Geez, The W-word!). I also have Aurox set up as a VmWare OS so I can run it under Windows if I want to. Unfortunately, I can't do everything in Linux (yet!) that I can do in Windows or I would switch over immediately. But I do occasionally get the urge for a 'command prompt' and boot linux. I'm just starting to learn mySql and PHP programming so I imagine I'll be in Linux quite often now! (Doesn't linux run php sort of natively?)
BTW, Registerd Linux User 314417
