New LQ member intro
Hey all:
I'm a new member here, and wanted to introduce myself. I've been using Linux for about 2 1/2 years now, starting out with Ubuntu 9.04 until they stopped supporting it. It was awesome. I moved to Ubuntu 10.04, but had troubles with it, especially OpenOffice. I moved to LinuxMint 9.0 and that's what I'm using now. Needless to say, I did a little customizing. Added some menus to the upper panel to make it look like Ubuntu (don't like Linux Mint's default start menu: Too much like Windoze). I consider myself a medium advanced user, but I realize I have a lot to learn. I like to help people, but I'm not afraid to say, "I don't know." I dual boot Linux Mint and Windows XP, although I hardly ever boot into XP, unless I can't do something in Linux (print online coupons). I run an HP laptop dv8135nr, with two 100G HDD's 2G ram, 2G AMD Turion64 processor. It's been a pretty good laptop. Well, I guess I've said enough for now. Thanks for letting me ramble. 1GnuPenguin :{)> |

Introduction about myself
Hello everyone.
I am a recent graduate from a 2 year college diploma in Computer Networking & Technical Support (Canadian College). I've grown to like Linux, using Fedora Core 9-13 from learning the basics to Web Administration using Fedora Core 9. Right now, I just received a laptop from a family member, (IBM Thinkpad i series 1161) and gonna be installing a distro of Linux (older one for sure), so I can keep my hand in the pot when it comes to using Linux. Have a great day, and hope to learn new things through your posts :) Thanks again, Peter Dukes233 |
