My first day- I like what I see
Hey everyone-
I am a former Windows user and have been on a Mac the last three years. I have recently fell in love with the idea of creating your own machine that does exactly what you want for the right amount of money. SO- I am fresh. New. Possibly annoying with my naivety and certainly uneducated. So much so, that I do not know where to begin. But I want to learn. My final goal is to be able to install Ubuntu 9.04 netbook on a new MSI Wind U90 that I just purchased. It currently is running SUSE Linux and that is a bit much for me at the present. I can offer excellent conversation for advice and good-natured jokes. I live in New York City and would also love to catch up with anyone in the area who loves boardgames (Catan anyone?), humor, and discussing the merits and concepts behind Linux. I really want to learn how I can stop throwing money at big companies and start taking care of the freelancers. Thanks so much. Look forward to getting acquainted. DOUG NYC |
Well, here's a very good Linux tutorial: http://rute.2038bug.com/index.html.gz
Also, to meet Linux users, try googling 'new york lug' lug = Linux User's Group |
