Migrating from Solaris to RH

I'm an Oracle DBA on Solaris for 8 years and a developer for 6 years before that. I have been disappointed with Sun the last few years and am benchmarking Oracle on Linux.

I have enough faith in Linux that I have shutdown my Sparc 5 at home and have replaced it with a RH9 box. I am glat I found this forum to help with my newbie questions about how to navigate the differences between Solaris and Linux.

Welcome! There are differences between Solaris and Linux, but they're smaller than between WIndows and Linux. I hope you'll find here answers for all your possible doubts.
