Long Time MS not so long Linux
Hello folks,
By way of background, my first system was a Leading Edge XT with a full meg of ram and an upgrade 20 meg HD running some version of MS-DOS. Ah the good old days. Use most of the MS windows versions up through XP but became dis-enchanted over the years with the constant hassle of update/upgrade and $ outlay for various products such as office. With the asvent of Open Office and Firefox, I started shifting away from MS and finally have installed Umbutu on a AMD64. Love it. There are many thing I've got to adjust to with the transition and hope I can find guidance in the forum. BTW from my perspective the killer app in Linux is the Update Manager. |
