Long-time Linux user, new member
Hi, all.
I've been using linux on and off since 1997 or so. Used to use Suse--I think I bought a box set from Best Buy long ago, when they used to sell distros. Since then, I used Slackware, Debian, and Ubuntu. I have Ubuntu installed on two machines now, but have begun playing with Slackware again. It feels more in tune to my geekiness: Ubuntu is just a bit _too_ friendly.
I mostly use it for writing, for typesetting music (via lilypond), and internet. Currently have Slackware 12.2 installed on my HP2133 Mininote.
