lock-keys-applet auto execution at startup

I am a newbi to Ubuntu Linux. I have just added lock-keys-applet because my Dell keyboard has not LED's for cap or num-locks. I would like to have the lock-keys-applet execute automatically at boot; however all I see is a lib dir with what seems to be an executable and not a lib (i.e. no .so but install as executable by all). So my questions:
  • How does one execute this beast (attempting to just execute it as staff or su just goes off and dies after about 1 minute.)and
  • What is the best way to apply it to, and I am assuming there from my Unix days, rc?
