Introduction
 

Hello all,

I've been lurking on this forum for a while, but thought it about time to introduce myself. I've been using Linux on and off for a number of years - ever since I bought a Slackware distribution at CeBIT in the 90's sometime. I'm currently using YellowDog on a G3 iMac - my house backup server, lots of disk, and Mandriva on an AMD machine for my day-to-day hacking, but I have been a Fedora user in the past as well. Professionally I have been in support roles on AIX since AIX 3.2.5, and Solaris more recently also - oh, and I'm also a keen Mac OSX user.

I've been in IT since punch cards, paper tape and real core storage. (the software for my final year project at University was on an CA Alpha LSI-02, though I did have access to a DEC PDP12, a Honewell DDP516 and a Burroughs B1700!) I do most of my coding in good ol' C, but I do play in PHP and other languages as well. These days I'm an IT Architect/Consultant, but still keep trashing and building machines for grins.
