Introduction

Hello

I am Paul, I have recently graduated with a BSc in Open Source Computing, I use Linux Mint as my OS of choice, on both my desktop and laptop.

I use Oracle's virtual box to run various other operating system as I need to. Even have a sacrificial virtual copy of Windows 7 so I can help family and friends using that OS. I use Teamviewer to do remote support of any OS, even Secure Shell where appropriate.

I code in C/C++/Java/PHP/Javascript and Pascal(Lazarus).
I current have an open source project in development a text based RPG/MUD with a friend he is learning C so I am using this as teaching experience for myself to teach C, he has the gaming experience and is teaching me some techniques that we code in C, it is on github. we are currently working on the server as single user system at present once the system is okay for direct input and working as expected, we intend to use sockets and have a multi-player game that is however a while away yet.

If you want to see it progress it is here https://github.com/pvm341/aRPG
advice, ideas or even help or fork it feel free to do so.

All the best to any readers.
regards
Paul

I know jefro, it was at one point my language of choice for almost anything, on Sunday 31/08/2014 a friend's son wanted quick program knocking up, he uses windows, and I don't like doing to much in Windows any more however knocked it to his satisfaction in less than a day, using Lazarus for the GUI. Towards the end of the day he wanted a couple of modifications and which were easy to to do! He is happy and as it was for him, if he finds a market for the program he can sell it with my blessing. I don't think he will, hey if it makes this youngster a few bucks, that is okay with me!

My current language of choice is C.

I have a generic singly linked list library in development the list is done need to turn the list to a queue, that is for the rpg game mentioned in the introduction, to queue inputs from multiple players. The stack could also be useful with in the game. The game could make use of a Graph data structure that is just a more sophisticatedly linked list.

Have a great day every one, and remember the greatest gift you can give to anyone, is your time, because that is the only thing you can not replace.
