Introduction

Hello LQ world, I am an AIX administrator and was given the responsibliity of administering linux. This site has help me along the way, and for the life of me I can't figure out why it took me so long to join. But like some one told me some time ago, " nothing happens before its time.

Hope with the knowledge I have gained I can help others as others helped me.

Getting to Know You

I use CentOS and I have VMs for Fedora, Ubuntu and anything else I need to test. I teach UNIX/Linux and am trying to stay ahead of the curve but I know there is a beach out there. Eventually, the wave will crash.

Things change with every release but things have improved significantly over the years. yum is a significant improvement over rpm --nodeps. Remind me never to do that again.

I've seen some good tips and some wild guesses on this site. Keep up the good work. If you never make a mistake, it just means you aren't trying.

Paul

P.S. I added a post to your "Introduction" thread. I can't improve on that.
