Hi Thank you. I want to know the basic commands to monitor a linux server. Currently I am only using free, df -h to check memory usage and disk space. Please explain me about iostat or other command to check disk activity.

First go to LQ Wiki and look at Commands.
If this does not help then start a new thread in the Linux - Newbie forum with the appropriate title. This will give your question more exposure.
