I'm 37 wife, mortgage and three kids. Been into Linux for about a year, started with Mandrake 10.1 which I paid for. Struggled a bit having only used ever used Windows as my OS since the late eighties. I got a lot of support from the mandrake newsgroups and started to enjoy myself.
I'm now using Kubuntu Dapper and pretty settled with it, earlier this year i built a Myth TV box with 3 DVB-T cards and working remote control, this was based on Ubuntu Breezy using many of the helpful howto guides on the web. A great way to learn more about linux.
I've also built a small home server that acts as a Web proxy and content filter using squid and dansguardian. Keeps the kids away from dodgy webs sites and downloading mp3's. It also acts as file server for the all photos, videos etc.
Well, I hope to be of some use and answer a few questions over the coming weeks.
