Install Linux D on a GateWay machine, as a File Server Net w/ Win Machines. Now What?

Hi All Very new to Linux... Can any body help me? I just Installed "Linux D" On a old Gate Way machine, trying to set it up as WiFi/FTP File Server. It will be accessing the WEB via a Bi Quad WiFi and distributing it to Windows OS computers via WiFi and CAT6 Ethernet. does any one have this info or experience on hand? Much Thanks in advance.
