I have joined the site to ask a question about using Unetboot to netboot a Xubuntu pa

I must register a post without URL's before I create an account. My name is Ryan Getter. I am from Carrollton, OH. That is a bit about myself. If you do a search for Unetboot in the search engine of this site, I'm sure you'll find the thread I'm about to post. It is a series of questions I have as well as data I have attained that I beleive would be beneficial in the discovery of my issue and the method to take care of it. I will most likely be posting it once in the newbie section and once in the Ubuntu section as I'm not sure which it would pertain more too, as I'm not a Linux expert, and I am dealing with a Xubuntu netboot here. The actual issue at hand is that I followed directions that worked for many other people to use a program called Unetboot to netboot a partition of the debian based system Xubuntu on a computer that has sucessfully ran Xubuntu prior. However, I managed to do what seemed like a successfull install, but when I rebooted the machine I wound up getting to a prompt. I had the ability to login with a user in password in using the cammand prompt or grub or what ever its called, but after that i just had a prompt that I didn't know what to do with. I have a full detailed report of what happened with the system and where i got things from with links and such that's very well organized. Check for my thread I'm sure you'll find it. Now that I think about it I'll just edit this post once I've posted my thread so that it can contain a link that will lead to the thread I shall create. Thanks for your understanding of this awkwerd post.

EDIT:

Did you install GDM ? It's just the graphical log in.

This should help
