I am what I am and that's all that I am

Hello all,

I've been screwing around with different distros for a while now. My abilities, though, are at best intermediate. I have no real reason to be using linux other than for fun. These days I'm mostly just about screwing around writing programs using mainly perl and GTK. I don't really have a favorite distro at this point. I mainly just joined these forums because I don't have friends that share these interests and I'm not in, or looking to be in, any classes related to this, so I joined mainly just to increase the amount of people with an appropriate knowledge base I can consult.

Welcome to LQ!

We're all here because we're here, because we're here, because we're here.

No other reason really necessary (although there are certainly some good reasons if you look for them!).

Welcome to the forums, Air-lk! :)

We look forward to your participation. There are clearly plenty of active users on LQ as well as many other sites. This one is very good, I look towards the fact that there are members from way, way back as well as many new ones. Tells me that many things are right and it's not merely my personal preferences, ... others also agree. :)

Berry good!

Hi.

Programming code often goes way over my head as a hobbyist but I've seen what seem college professors out there. ;)
For over 5 years GNU\Linux has done all my computing and with more RAM it's Linux running Linux VMs. http://www.pcworld.com/article/220644/10_Cool_Things_Virtualization_Lets_You_Do.html :)

Have fun!
