Howdy!

Hi All,

Rob here, in sunny Sydney.

Just thought I'd do the intro thing and say g'day, howdy, hi, hello, howz it going, and how they hangin' . . .all that type of stuff.

I'm quiet new to Linux. A little over two years ago I was at the brink from using Billy's OS (XP & Vista) and I just couldn't take it anymore. So, I decided to do a bit of research and find out if there was a better alternative - yep, Linux. At first I didn't even know what Linux was. Luckily there was plenty of resources and info' online and pretty soon I was testing out various distro's.

Some two and a bit years later I'm still happily learning the ins and outs of Linux, with much more to learn (Grass Hopper), and running Debian/Ubuntu as my prime OS across a several machine, small business network; to which I don't think is too poor in the progress department for someone who hadn't even seen a command line prompt 26 months earlier.

However, it is the sites such as this one that make all the difference to us newbies. They really are the cornerstone for imparting the knowledge and wisdom of the Master(s) to the honorable student.

Have a great day, and talk to you soon.

Best regards,
Rob ;)

Hey, welcome, you know what is nice, starting with asking questions only and over time starting to help other people, you often feel you aren't getting better at Linux/computers in general but in fact you are, sites like these make you realise :) enjoy!
