Hi,
I am a new Ubuntu user from Ohio. So far things are going well for me in learning to use it. I tried many years ago to install Slackware and got discouraged, but things have certainly changed since then. I am looking forward to learning more about Linux from others who have more experience. I would like to find out how to help the Linux community grow.

Welcome to LQ! Are you intending to dual boot MS Windows with Ubuntu?
It helps everyone if you would please update 'Your Profile' & add frequently used equipment specifications as a signature!
If using a laptop be sure to include the Wireless adapter ID.
I have tried Slackware since ~ 9, now have 12.2, my command line knowledge is still too low/poor even after three years here (BUT am gaining fast now that I finally know how to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst
