I am introducing my self, as I will be able to post replies and perhaps contribute somewhat. I have been using linux for a while. My first attempts begun in 1998 something, when I got RH 5.? on a cd together with a computer magazine. I must say I didn't understand what linux could be good for at that time. Just to set up a dial up modem connection to the Internet was killing. Anyhow with a little more experience I now know that not even Windows 8 can compare with for instance LinuxMint KDE14 edition. I made some bad experiences when I bought my new cheap laptop last week (PB Easy Note TE) with windows 8. I am now running linux mint KDE14, which resides on my external USB hdd, and it rocks
. Linux mint was quicker and friendlier to install. I also have good experience of Slackware.
