Hello World

Hello linux users!
I have little expierence with linux but like using bash and exploring linux in general. I've used a few live cd's and some native builds, and currently have virtual machines with which to put linux on. Anything I should know before I get started? And a question to start with... how similar is scripting in linux/unix/mac? Until later,
