I'm a retired geek. That is retired from work but still a geek. Given where Windows appears to be going, I've decided to explore Linux. I have some background in software and operating systems as a user, administrator and developer. I have a limited background in Unix, mostly as an application developer and system administrator.
This background makes my knowledge of Linux very uneven. On the one hand I hardly know how to use the system and on the other hand I've already generated my first kernel.
Please forgive me if my questions seem strange, as I may want to do something an advanced user would try but am asking questions a newbie should be able to answer.
Distribution: Mainly Devuan, antiX, & Void, with Tiny Core, Fatdog, & BSD thrown in.

Welcome aboard.
We each have knowledge of only some of what is available, but we generally know where to look for answers, & if we can't find them, we ask in forums such as here.
