Thumbs up hello to all from another newby.

Hi all. I stumbled across this site by accident while trying to establish why my laptop has "no mixer device installed". Which i presume (excuse me for sounding thick!!) referred to a lack of sound card or relative hardware. Anyway, besides from straying from the point a lot i hope to be able to broaden my computer knowledge (not difficult) and maybe help others with what little knowledge i do have. I'm a windows user, but I've heard a lot about linux and its benefits, but for the time being I think I'd best start from the bottom and work up. Well thats me. Oh! By the way any help on the sound issue would be gratefully received.

Allow me to leave you with this..

There are no strangers.. Only friends we haven't met yet.

Bye for now
