Talking Hello to all

Just a quick note so I can be considered somewhat less of a lurker. I have a basic knowledge of Linux. Fedora is my current os, but I have tried out debian, freeos, and a few others. I am retired after 30 years working on computers, and data comm. My first computer was a Data General with 16 and 32 K memory-16 bit words-, (that's right, K as in thousand) and it ran a program without an operating system. All coding was done in assy and it used reel to reel tape for storage with 64 stacked interrupts. It has been a real trip watching the field grow and I feel honored to have been a small part of it. I now just dabble here on rainy days when I can't make it to my forge to hit metal with a hammer. I strongly support the FSF efforts to keep it real for people, and mourn the loss of intellectual freedom that seemed so unlimited at first.
