Hiya tuxxers
I am not new to linux, but have not been using linux for a long time due to software constraints. Today, it is 2011, and i see that Linux distro's have come far in being a serious contender for other vital OS's such as Mac OSX and Windows. I have installed, reinstalled, reinstalled so many different distro's. To date i have tried, Ubuntu and different spins of Ubuntu, openSuSe, Fedora, Debian, centOS, PClinuxOS, Mandriva, what else i dont remmber and then finally Slackware. Ive settled on Slackware. Ease of install, no kernel panics, no broken drivers, a preferred window manager comes preinstalled with NO problem (KDE4). All i needed to do was build the prop ATI Radeon driver and then blacklist the generic radeon driver(this driver worked but it was OVER scanning the resolution past my monitor's capacity) to get my X window to work properly. Afterwards, changed the runlevel to 4 to automatically go to KDM login window.
My purpose is to set up a home server running a wordpress multisite blog, mediawiki, a forum site, and start up a shell corporation for future endeavors. Possibly add a FTP mirror site as well, that depends on my bandwidth cap.
