I was having issues with windows, so I took the plunge & used lubuntu .. tried ubuntu & mint .. lubuntu is best for my limited system ..
Sooo glad to find a forum where linux users can support each other in what is clearly a powerful (yet challenging -- esp. for newbies) operating system & command line.
My main challenge now is organizing a huge number of accumulated files, backing them up, de-duplicating them, revising their modified dates, removing illegal characters from the names, appending dates to the file or directory name itself, reading files from my floppies, & a few other things.
Wow! Floppies. They still work? Awesome! Have not used those myself but when i was a boy hanging out at dad's office they were around. I use to have the floppy drive but disconnected it because i got a cd burner and new hard drive so it was wasting ide cable slots. Lol
We use to just trade game images using lpt ports and laplink back then.

Once data organized, life can begin anew ...
Thanks & good luck to all ..
