Hello! Newbie here with a lot of questions!

I am a new Linux user, I am using ubuntu 10, but I am having a problem with my screen resolution. I know there are many answers already posted so I will search first.

So far I have tried to change the resolution with xrandr, that did not work, I think I need to find the Linux drivers for the video card and monitor.
