Hello Linux world!
What's up everybody? I've always been a windows user because all I really do is use the internet and play games so if fits my needs; but, this weekend I've taken the step into learning Linux for personal use. I'm trained in a decent amount of Unix/Linux operation and administration as part of my job but I've never used it for myself. My experience with Linux is mostly limited to running servers through the terminal window so I'm sure I'll enjoy learning to use Linux to a much greater potential. My supervisor suggested that I install Slackware because using it will teach me more about Linux than any of the other distributions. I don't have any extra computers lying around and I need to keep all the stuff I have on windows so I installed Slackware 13.37 on a virtual machine and I'll see how it goes from there. I know I'll have plenty of questions so I'm glad I've found this community. I look forward to learning from all of you in the Forums!
