Hello from France
Hi, As a newbie to Linux but cut my teeth on Fortran 4/et al and DOS 2.?? upward!
I'm an Englishman in Charente France!
I've tried Ubuntu on a desktop on a couple of occasions but have been caught out with Printer installations! I have Ubuntu 10.04 installed on a Dell 1750, with a Canon MP560 Multi function working with Turboprint .deb drivers - the Ubuntu Package manager did the work for me! I have yet to try and install the scangear driver! For those that are interested The MP560 is working wirelessly from the wirelessly connected laptop into a Netgear wireless router!
My other laptop is an Acer One running Linpus Linux Lite which works very well except I now want to make it work into the MP560 as well!
All in all I am about to embark upon installing tarballs!!!
Apologies for the verbose introduction!!!!!
