This is my obligatory introductory posting. I'm an engineer in Ann Arbor, MI. I'm fairly new to Linux, but I now have it booting, dual-booting or at list running as a virtual machine on two netbooks, a Macbook Pro and an old-school Mac dual-G4 MDD.
