Hello from a newbie to the site and an oldie with computers
Hello,
From the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Central California,
Just installed Linux Mint Serena on my new Dell 3040 and am anxious to investigate the new operating system (for me) and find out how to get rid of Windows 7 and the dual boot system. I previously installed via ISO on my earlier computer about a month ago, but suddenly the old girl bit the dust (died) with a little bit of a burnt smell (probably the processor). I was very tired of the poorly operating Windows 7 operating system and my wife was having such a wonderful experience with her new Dell 9020 I decided it was time to move to a new computer. At age 79 and many many computers later from my first experience as a digital systems technician (USAF) back in the early 1960s, I am tired of building my own, buying from the local geek, etc, and had had great luck with a Dell laptop that I bought years ago from the instructor at a PLC Direct programming conference in Boston; Dell looked good to me, so I gave them a try. So far so good.
