Hello from a Mint user and linux toddler.

I started Linux because I knew I did not want to stay with the costly world of Microsoft. Also, I have always favored open architecture hardware and software. My initial exposure about 3.5 years ago was with a few releases of Ubuntu but when I found Mint it was, to me, a better choice. I've been with Mint since release 6, I think, (it's been so long ago) and am now on Mint 14 Cinnamon. I really like Cinnamon. I have made no monumental effort to get a general Linux education but just address learning as it applies to whatever dilema is current. I still have my XP system sitting on a separate drive without any dual boot as I find that the safest way to go and I rarely use XP. All browsing and e-mail is don on Mint. A friend that knew nothing of computers inherited one of my home built cast offs and I set him up on Linux and he and I are both happy Mint users. I also only use my home built systems. I have a big tower under my desk with a large ASUS ATX server MOBO and two Opteron dual processors and a gob of RAM. Life is good in Linux Land!! https://lqo-thequestionsnetw.netdna-...s_lq/icon6.gif
