Smile Hello folks :-)

Hi there, I'm fairly new to linux. I've managed to set up 7 Slackware v8.0 servers and they're running Samba to allow our Windoze users to save files centrally.

Currently I'm working on replacing 1 of these with 2 Slackware v10.1 servers !

These will be identical in almost every way and will be rsynced every night so... if the main one dies I have an immediate replacement with and almost up-to-date set of data. They each have 2 NICs installed, 1 in each is used for rsync and the other to connect to the LAN. Only the main server is connected to the LAN, the plan is that in the event of the main server failing I just pull the cable out and plug it into the backup server :-)

It's all such fun but the learning curve is steep and I sometimes slip and fall on my butt.

Regards to you all

Mike
