Hello everyone

My name is Angga, and my first Linux distro was Ubuntu 10.10, around 5 years ago. Have been switching back and forth between Ubuntu and Debian, and now I'm settled with Debian Wheezy.

I don't really know much about programming or the kernel, so I'd really appreciate some kind help from the community

Hello Angga, welcome to the forum

There are probably many resources and guides for this on the internet, two of them you can read here and here. You can also take a look at the programming section of LQ's tutorial here.

Regards...

Hello!

Almost an entire set of forums could be created on just the kernel and it's options and tuning.

Some folks like Linux From Scratch documents to help get started on linux and in your case more directly the kernel. I've found the information at Gentoo.org helpful.

Don't forget to see https://www.kernel.org/
