Hello all!!!! New to Linux..

Greetings Fellow constituents! I am 2 weeks new to Linux now. I was given an old Compaq tc4200 with Liux And XUbuntu on it. It has been challenging to say the least. I am hoping that one of you might know how to re-enable wireless & where do i find the Sound system? After finally updating the system, I 1.)have no wireless internet, nor do I have sound. I had sound and wireless capabilities prior to updating. I am truly nonplussed. I have read the linux manual, alas', to no avail....

newbie update...

ROFLMAO!!!
my computer of 16 faithful years finally broke. took to techie, no longer able to retrieve parts.
had to buy new one. i have a t60 series lenovo. my friend helped me by making it a dual core os. never knew you could do this. at least I have linux / ubuntu v.12.04 full install , plus Windows XP. I look forward to learning more on this linux os. so far it is very slow going, but educationally fulfilling. thanks again community for your support.
