Hello, a short intro from Holland
 

I have been using computers for more than 20 years; but until recently had only experience with Windows (now up to W7) and Macs. I am now trying to decide which Linux version I prefer. Therefore I have tried out a number of distros: Ubuntu Remix 9.10 on my netbook and Ubuntu 9.10, Mint Helena and Fedora 12 on my old (8 years old) desktop. Plunging into the fray I managed to break virtually all distros through my own stupidity but have now set up a stable (I hope) Mint version. Fedora was too slow in updates to my liking and the regular Ubuntu version needed too many changes which have been incorporated in Mint (enabling Medibuntu etc.).
Some elements in Ubuntu I preferred to Mint, especially being able to see the website of new programs immediately in the Ubuntu software center. I have therefore installed the software center, so that it shows up in my superkey menu (odly enough I can find it in my Mint menu).

For my netbook I liked the Remix version as it fits the small screen better.
