Smile Hello

Hi everyone.

I am relitively new to Linux, having only been introduced to it when I started work with a not-for-profit organisation in Melbourne called Community Media Servcies.

Our network is a mixture of Debian Linux machines, from Computerbank, a couple of Windows PC's, and an Apple.

As the only person working here who knows how to use anything past a mouse & keyboard, I'm responsible for trying to keep everything working and will definitely be using this site as a resource.

Of the projects that we are working on at present, the one of most interest to any other forum members would be our attempt to set up a TV production suite using Linux machines for an amount as close to $0.00 as possible. This would be of use to community television producers in Melbourne ( we are closely associated with channel 31, a community broadcaster). So if anyone who reads this would be interested in helping out, please email me at abrk.cms@bigpond.net.au

Cheers

alex

Hi Alex,

Welcome to LQ.

I do not know much but have a look at 'cinelerra' for video editing and 'ardour' for multitrack audio recording/editing. Both are free OS programs.

Hi and welcome to LQ That's quite a project, but there is software out there for this. Try looking through Distrowatch (www.distrowatch.com) for media focused distros.

Welcome to LQ!
Interesting project you have there! I hope to see more of it in the (near?) future.
