Belgian newbie to the forum here. I've always liked to try different software (really, I loved the configurability of Foobar), and the overall dislike of Win8 gave me the extra push to try Linux.
I've been using Linux for about a year right now. Started with Linux Mint, but couldn't manage a lot of things (like wifi not working, graphics failing, etc).
I didn't want to go back to Windows 8, so I tried Ubuntu 14.04. Everything worked without a flaw, so I fell in love with it. Since then I've been reading tons of stuff about Linux and I kept on digging deeper into the documentation of different distributions. I finally jumped to Debian. Got over some problems quite easily, in such a way that I smile when I think of the Linux Mint-troubles I had.
The next step will be Slackware, because it's bare bones. I could use Arch, but I really want to work with the source. Some Distro Choosers recommend Gentoo, but I never really considered it. So I have the Slackbook in my docs atm.
