Guest additions for Ubuntu 9.04 in VirtualBox 2.1.4 OSE

I was trying to install the Guest Additions from Virtual Box to a Ubuntu 9.04 virtual machine, but there is an issue with video card driver. I found some solutions on how to manually extract the packages in the installer ".run" file and update the the "install.sh" file, however I did not have luck on this so far.

If anyone there found better solution, please help.

I wonder how could I better troubleshoot hardware (even if they are from virtual machines) in Linux. This still is a big step that separates the usual desktop user (coming from Windows world) to the heavy experienced linux user.

Thanks in advance,
