Greetings from first time poster, and question on upgrading
First time poster. I have Ubuntu running trouble free on my desktop, and am aware that there is a new distribution out (presumably still going through initial teething pains).
Looking for opinions on whether to leave well alone, or 'upgrade' to the latest distro ('if it ain't broke, don't fix it' ?)
Ubuntu follows a fairly aggressive upgrade schedule, usually offering a new release every six months or so. For people interested in more stability, they also offer "Long Term Support" releases for which security and software updates are provided for a couple of years.
Most Ubuntu releases have undergone extensive testing before they are released and are usually trouble-free. That being said, many people prefer to wait a few weeks after a new release before upgrading to let the "early adopters" find any problems still in the release.
In any case, you need to do your own homework, and make your own decision.
