Smile Greetings from an "Oldbie"

Hi all,
My name's Rik (aka Wikkus) and I'm a newbie when it comes to *nix. I've been working in IT for nearly 20 years (eek!) but after CP/M (no, really) it's been Micro$oft O/S' (or variants of) ever since. Much of my knowledge is centered around hardware and the implementation and integration of (mainly) WinTel boxes.

Linux interests me, I confess, largely because it's having more and more of an impact in the corporate world (woo-hoo!) where I'm employed.

I dabbled with SuSE 7.1 for some time a couple of years ago, but that was it.

I now have a full install of SuSE 8.2 on my primary machine at home and am endeavouring to switch entirely from Windoze to Linux.

Please bear with a wannabe convert.

Cheers all,

Hope you find Linux as great as a lot of us here do, Wikkus.
You have to admit that it definately fits into the "now for something completely different" catagory.
