Greetings from a Linux neophyte in NC
I am a Windows System Admin with very little *NIX experience. I've built a few Ubuntu boxes, installed Red Hat on a server or two and built a CentOS VM, but I never end up actually 'using' them.
On the Ubuntu boxes I used the GUI for what little I did, but now I need to develop some familiarity with the command line for some lightweight admin stuff. I came to the forum today to get information on mounting an external USB hard drive in Linux. My son needs to be able to backup some important data to an external hard drive due to size limitations on his older laptop and he tells me the drive must be formatted EXT3. I believe the laptop will be dual booting RH and Windows XP Pro. Anyway, it appears there’s a lot of good information to be had here, so thanks in advance! ~Dave |
