Greetings Earthlings!

Hello to the Linux community!

My name is Dante 668, and I am currently pre-Linux. However, I am also interested in getting into the guts of true geekdom and I'm trying to figure out which of 18 distributions would be good for someone who isn't afraid to learn. I'm in the research and planning stages of building my own box, which will be a Window/Linux dual-boot machine, and the geek at the local computer store directed me here.

One word:

Slackware.

Learn Slackware and you learn "Linux." It stays out of your way does exactly as you instruct it.

You can download "the book" from here:

Have fun!
