Hi folks. Getting the first post out of the way...

I'm an old hand at GNU/Linux, but new to the LinuxQuestions.org community. I've used GNU/Linux off and on since forever (forever meaning when you had to download floppy images from a BBS) and I'm back after an extended stay in Windows and Mac. I've tried many distros, but I always retun to Slackware, which is what I have now. Slackware fits the way I work, almost never does anything surprising and is unobtrusive. I look at it as the FreeBSD of GNU/Linux.
